The ‘Mesure d’Accompagnment Paysage’ (MAP) of the Foron river is part of the Grand Geneva infrastructure project, reinforcing the Commune of Thônex’s green network. The MAP initiative is most notably realised along the Promenade des Lucanes which traverses the entire commune.Over six kilometres long, the promenade created links the Seymaz in the north to Arve river to the south at the mouth of the Foron river. Guided by a scattering of small markers along the trail, this promenade passes through the Belle-Idée Forest, the Belle-Terre neighbourhood and the Voie Verte. It offers an educational signposting system, providing information on the surrounding natural ecosystems.
